New Impact in a New Year!

New Impact in a New Year!

2023 is going to be better than ever! Building on 10+ years of a solid foundation, there is a lot of “new” around Hope Haven Rwanda this season:

  • New students from around the country,
  • New world-class education and dormitory facilities,
  • New staff in every department,
  • New athletic fields coming soon,
  • And the list of “new” could go on and on…

While our team treasures the past, and the thousands of families we have impacted along the way, we are all about the future—and the future couldn’t be brighter!

In the prophecy Isaiah received, the Lord reminded him not to live in the past: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:18-19a).

Our God is God of the new! We are people of hope. We have “new birth” and are “new creations.” We anticipate a “new Heaven” and a “new earth.” We know that God is guiding our steps and we lean expectantly into the future. We live by faith, not in fear.

Specifically because of Hope Haven’s unique vision—developing Christian world leaders and job creators—we live in anticipation of significant future transformation. These students will change Rwanda—and the world!

As I wrap up my responsibilities as CEO of Hope Haven Rwanda this week after more than five years and 400+ days on the ground in Rwanda, I am reminded how much I love our amazing team and the astounding work we have accomplished together.

More than just a professional role, this has been a family-focused calling for us. In this week’s video, our family shares their gratitude for all of the amazing memories! Each of our three youngest children has spent eight months of their life in Rwanda. Hope Haven will always be a big part of our family’s story and now the time has come for our family to shift to being committed investors and advocates.

Our two Kugaba Kids, Joyeuse and Promise, will always be a special part of our family. We pray for them, write to them and remind them how grateful we are God brought them into our lives. If you haven’t become a Hope Angel, let me personally ask you to consider investing in a student today. If we are able to end this year with 100 new sponsorships, they will be matched by another full sponsorship for 2023! Right now is the perfect time to make a direct intervention in the life of a vulnerable student.

I am also excited about the “new” in our family’s life. Kimberly and I are committed to coaching—helping people discover and capitalize on what they do best. We love coming alongside others as they grow in their faith and deepen their impact on the world around them. We are excited to inspire even more people to live purpose-filled lives for God’s glory—to really flourish in God’s path for their lives! There is no better way to live than to live an adventure of faith.

Hope Haven Rwanda isn’t slowing down for even a minute in 2023. The halls are now filled with 1,516 students and 182 staff. More than 500 students are on campus full-time as secondary boarding students. After ten years, we are still in the early stages of what God has in mind for this amazing operation!

Thanks for letting us be part of your lives on this adventure. We are thrilled about what the future holds for Hope Haven Rwanda. We also look forward to staying in touch with all of you. We truly believe the best is yet to come!
