New Job Now What? - LinkedIn Roundup (VIDEO)
🔹#LINKEDIN ROUNDUP: Every week I'll reach out to my amazing LinkedIn network and ask questions on sales, marketing and innovation.
💡Let’s share knowledge, best practices and industry insights!
⁉️QUESTION: It can be tough starting out in a new industry or career. What’s one tip or trick you’d give a new sales rep coming into a new role or industry to help them ramp up quick and be more confident in their position.
1. Justin Michael, Vice President of Sales at Kochava
Sit next to mentors!
2. Ravi Singh, Founder, SalesMatinee
Best TIP which I always follow: "WORK SPEAKS MORE THAN WORDS".
Although it takes 3 to 6 months to adopt to the new work culture and a new Team. But Learning from colleagues who are ready to share and keeping a distance from political minds, makes it easy to settle down quickly in the new role. As any organization is just a group of People, with different mind-set so it's obvious that we have to interact with all kind of characters possible.
But logically, any company hires employees for doing a particular task, and being professional in office premises is more than enough to avoid any kind of DISTRACTIONS.
I also feel lucky that I never had an experience of working in a very HIGH PRESSURE Work Environment, where so called BOSSES shouts on the Employees without any reason. And it helped me a lot to keep my Creativity ALIVE !!
3. Paula B., Creator and Owner Especially For Ewe
Starting a website was and is a big step for me and a lot to learn and try to implement. Knowledge seems to be the key to anything. The more you know before going into something new, the more confident you will be.
4. Adam Keenan, Business Development Manager for CapEx/EPCM Services
Spend time with technical staff in the new business. They generally enjoy what they do and are happy to talk about and explain it to you.
5. Ron Mcintyre, Product ReMarketing & Sales Manager at EWASTE+
Be open about the fact that you're a newbie and are learning the business. Find the passionate employees because they will be the most willing to invest in you. Spend as much time as possible observing and asking questions and make sure to interface with other departments to ensure you understand how the entire business functions and how each department works together.

5yI really appreciate the mention. I would add this is totally possible via Slack and ZOOM even three-way cold calling if you are part of a remote/distributed team. Travel to on-site meetings with a top rep when you are ramping even if the titles are cross-functional. Thanks Scott!
