New Kia Carnival Exterior Unveiled

Kia has unveiled the fourth-generation Carnival, giving us a glimpse of its revamped exterior at Auto Expo 2023. The luxurious MPV has received a facelift in line with Kia's 'Opposites United' design philosophy. Here's what you need to know:

Sharper Looks: The updated Kia Carnival boasts a more captivating front end with vertically stacked 4-piece LED headlights, stylish LED DRLs, and a larger, redesigned grille. The front bumper has been tweaked to accommodate fog lamps and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The sides remain largely unchanged, but there are fresh alloy wheel designs. The rear features a refreshed tailgate, slimmer LED taillights, and a modified bumper with a silver skid plate. Kia also introduced a design-differentiated Gravity trim in a sleek dark grey shade with black ORVMs and distinct alloy wheels.

Interior Upgrades: Although Kia hasn't unveiled the interior yet, the facelifted Carnival is set to receive updates inside. Expect improvements in terms of screens, dashboard design, and rear seat comfort. The vehicle will continue to offer multiple seating configurations.

Under the Hood: Globally, the new Carnival will be available with three powertrain options: petrol, diesel, and hybrid. Kia has introduced a new 1.6-liter turbo-petrol hybrid variant to the mix. For the Indian market, it's likely to come with a petrol engine, a change from the previous diesel-only offering.

India Launch: While Kia has yet to confirm the India launch, we anticipate it might hit Indian roads by 2024, with prices starting at approximately Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kia Carnival doesn't have a direct competitor in India but will serve as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross. Globally, Kia is set to reveal more details about the 2024 Carnival in November 2023.
