New-Old Track: Facing the Horde

Facing the Horde is an old track I wrote and produced back in May of 2014. I revisited the track a week ago and gave the arrangement a very sneaky (hopefully seamless and undetectable) twist. Then I remastered it.

Knowing what I know now, and having a better audio engineering sense, I hope my updated version is better than the previous version. If you are curious what it sounded like, here it is:

The alteration from the previous arrangement is simply adding an overdriven electric guitar part at the last repeat of the chorus and at the final unison swell and fade out. There was some hiss that I didn't pick up the last time after the fade-off. I no longer have the project files or the digital audio workstation software (I used Cakewalk Sonar). So I had to work on the stereo mixed-down version.

After my remaster the hiss after the final fade-off stood up very prominently. In an attempt to creatively blend, mask and hide it, I came up with the idea of adding another fuzzy guitar part to it. In a way, this also made sense in an arrangement context to try and elevate the emotional intensity by adding in yet another gritty part at the final repeat.
