New projects that reaffirm our leadership in innovation and clean energies
Good morning, here we are after a very intense week celebrating Wind Day 🌬 all over the world. And how could we not, as global leaders in wind energy 🍃, thanks to a pioneering commitment that began more than 20 years ago, first with onshore wind and now also with offshore wind.
In onshore wind we will invest €5.9 billion by 2025, which will take us to 26 GW installed, compared to more than 20 GW at present. And, if we look at offshore, wind 🌊 has consolidated itself as one of the most relevant growth vectors for our company, with 1,258 MW offshore in operation and 5,500 MW under development, of which 2,600 MW are already under construction. Those currently in operation are: East Anglia ONE (North Sea), Wikinger (Baltic Sea) and West of Duddon Sands (Irish Sea), while those currently under construction 🏗 are: Saint Brieuc (French Brittany), Baltic Eagle (Baltic Sea), Vineyard Wind (Massachusetts) and Park City Wind (Connecticut), but we'll tell you more about them in this video 👇
It's clear that #TheWindThatMoveUs is powerful 🍃, and so is the talent of our team around the world. They have shown us that generating the best clean energy is compatible with knowing how to tell this story better than anyone else 📹.
Renewables around the world: Massachusetts
Our colleagues from #renewables don't stop. The installation of the first foundations of Vineyard Wind , the first large offshore wind farm in the U.S., has already begun. What a thrill 😍 to see how big projects are taking shape!

Renewable hydrogen to decarbonise Europe
As if that were not enough, in recent weeks we have had a royal visit to the largest green hydrogen plant in Europe, located in Puertollano (Ciudad Real. Spain). King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands led a delegation of Dutch businessmen and politicians, very interested in this technology 🔋. There we signed agreements to develop, together with the Dutch companies ACE Terminal and Hynetwork Services, a #RenewableHydrogen maritime corridor ⚓ between both countries to decarbonise northern European industry.
Ignacio Galán also announced during this visit that Europe's first green ammonia industrial plant, which will receive €750 million, will be located in Huelva, Spain. This plant is part of the agreement recently signed with Trammo for the sale and purchase of up to 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year from 2026 🍃.
At Iberdrola, we are working with facts, not promises, to promote green hydrogen. We will invest more than €3 billion in this sector, as part of our commitment to the #energytransition.
And we close this edition with some spectacular images from our Cañoneras wind farm in northern Spain. Because we are driven by good energy 🍃🎥🪂.
See you next time 👋
