NEW SUITCASE CONSIDERATIONS

NEW SUITCASE CONSIDERATIONS

When purchasing a new suitcase, consider a few factors to pick the right one for you. Because the right one for you may not be the right one for me.

At the end - grab my favorite suitcase.

Size & Capacity

  • How long is your trip? Do we need enough clothes that we need to check a bag? Or do we want to "carry on only"
  • Check your airline restrictions. Some have very strict guidelines and weight limits

Durability & Material

  • Hard Sided for someone wanting more protection for fragile items
  • Soft Sided for someone who likes to squeeze their bag into some odd spaces or tends to want to overpack (there's more "give" on these
  • Check for quality materials! We want to handle rain & bumpy sidewalks

Weight

  • Check out what your suitcase weighs when it is empty
  • Airlines care much more about suitcase weight now than in the past, so a light suitcase can help with our weight requirements

Wheels & Handles

  • 4 Double Spinner Wheels: Offers the chance for more movement and easy rolling through the airport
  • 2 Wheels: Don't have the dreaded "suitcase on the run" if you have to stand on a public bus. IYKYK
  • Handle: Make sure it's sturdy, can telescope & is the right height for you!

Features & Organization

  • Internal & External Compartments: These can be a game changer for anyone looking for a suitcase. I love my compression straps on the inside of my carry on
  • TSA Approved Lock: Don't worry about it being broken off and keep your suitcase secured even if it's out of sight
  • Expandability: For all the souvenirs

I hope this helps you if you're looking to get a new suitcase! HERE is my favorite Carry On and the one I just used on my trip to Spain & Portugal. TravelPro makes some amazing luggage IMO
