New year, new approach
There's no better time to get focused on your job search

New year, new approach

Happy new year from The Hub Team!

We hope the festive period gave you time to rest and reflect on the year just gone. It’s our desire that 2024 brings with it a renewed sense of motivation or excitement for your job search or career development journey.

We know that January can be a challenging time to stay motivated in our wider lives, but the truth is, there isn’t a better time of year for job-hunters and if you’re ready to put the work in, you have a great chance of seeing the rewards. We’re here to help you get the most out of the opportunities you have!

January is full of opportunity in the job market

Here’s a few great reasons why we LOVE January at The Hub HQ:

  • Organisations often have fresh budgets and objectives for the new year, which means they may be looking to hire new talent or fill vacancies right now.
  • Time for reflection over the festive period means that many people decide to change their careers or roles in the new year, providing new job openings and opportunities.
  • Making use of a wider sense of optimism and motivation in the job-market, can support you to feel more proactive and confident in your search.
  • A time of rest and review over the festive period can support you to identify your strengths, skills, and interests more easily. Maybe you’ve already had some time to work on your job-hunting tools like your resume or LinkedIn profile?
  • After the busyness and often distracting period of the festive season, it is much easier to stay focused on the task ahead and to find the time to do the work that’s needed to find your next role.

…and this January is particularly exciting for us, because…

  • As of today, we will be opening the doors to founder members on our new, The Hub member platform for jobseekers!

More on that soon, but if you’d like to take a sneaky peak at our website and launch trailer to find out what it's all about here .

Membership will be open to everyone in the coming weeks, but you can sign up on the site now to be first to hear when membership is live.

Excited yet?

Ok, we know there’s still lot to work to do for your job hunt, but hopefully you see that there’s more in the mix to be positive about than you might have previously thought.

And when it comes to doing the work – that’s exactly what we’re here to help with!

Whether you need support with your job-search tools, crafting a winning resume, pulling together an epic set of jump-hunting tools, learning how to network for success, or developing your mindset – we plan to support you with great tips and resources to help you!

Building a job-hunt strategy

Our first tip of the year is to take some time to plan your strategy.

It’s easy to want to get stuck straight in with doing the work of job-hunting, rather than spending time on forward planning, but we would love to encourage you to pause, reflect and plan so that you can support your job hunt by working smarter, rather than harder.

Some areas you might like to consider when you’re building your strategy:

  • What tools have you got to support my job-search? Consider your resume, LinkedIn profile, networking, connections and more.
  • Are your tools up to date? Do they need improving?
  • How much time do you have each week to dedicate to job-hunting? Where should you focus it?
  • Where are your greatest job-hunting skills? How can you use them more? Maybe you’re a great networker or brilliant researcher?
  • What can you do to be proactive about your job-search?
  • What type of organisations would you love to work for?
  • What resources might you need to support your search?
  • When can you take time to celebrate your successes (even the small ones, not just when you do get a job)
  • When can you take time to reflect on what’s working and what isn’t?

We hope that helps you get to a great start building a strategy and plan that works for you.

We wish you the best of luck in your search and look forward to being here to support you with tips, advice and encouragement this year.

With all the portals and AI and experts available at paid service... Wonder why it only comes to #referrals that is only thing that works.. your resume does never reach the decision maker and if it does by chance how many actually get a chance to put their experience above AI generated resumes...
