The new year is a great time to set goals.

The new year is a great time to set goals because it just feels like a fresh start. It is a chance to restart, rethink, reengage, and relaunch our projects, ideas, and energies.

It is a time to reflect on the past year and to look forward to the possibilities of the future. Setting goals for the new year can help to provide focus and motivation to work towards achieving them. It can also help to create a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when goals are achieved

Set and achieve your goals in the new year.

1.  Take time to identify the goals you want to achieve in the new year. Think about what you want to accomplish and why.

2.  Make a plan. Once you set clear, measurable goals for the year, make a plan to actually achieve them. Break down your goals into smaller, achievable tasks.

3.  Create a timeline for when you want to have each task completed, and assign deadlines for each task so that you stay on track and motivated.

4.  Track what is going well and what needs help as you face challenges and obstacles.

5.  Stay organized: Use a calendar and task list to keep track of deadlines and projects.

6.  Prioritize your time: Make sure you are focusing on the most important tasks first.

7.  Get help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it.

8.  Celebrate your successes to stay motivated and encouraged.

9.  Reevaluate your goals and progress regularly. Adjust when necessary.

My dad used to do a goofy little cheer for me: "Do the hard things first, the hard things first. Let's do, let's do, the hard things FIRST!" That reminds me of your #6. It's easy to focus on crossing things off the list that are quick, easy, or fun, but if we can knock out the priorities and the hard things, we feel such a sense of accomplishment that can keep us moving.

It sounds so easy, except it is tough to stay focused and on track with all of today's distractions.
