New Year, New Opportunity?

New Year, New Opportunity?

It's that time of year where many people find themselves wanting to make a change in their lives, to start something new - a new hobby, a new routine, or, the most popular choice, a new year's resolution!

But did you know that only '9% of individuals successfully complete their New Year's resolutions' [1] with 43% of us expecting to quit as early as February.

One of the main reasons for these statistics, is that people tend to lose motivation in the challenges they set themselves, with many not putting in the preparation before committing to a New Year's Resolution.

We all want to feel like we're making a positive difference in our community and at MK Community Foundation, we want to increase the diversity of those who sit on boards and represent us.

We know that boards which represent the communities they serve are essential to offering insights and lived experience examples, which go on to help shape the development of charities and community groups.

"Being a Trustee fills me with pride. It's the perfect mix of rewarding, challenging and heart-warming."
