New Year's Resolution - Bootstrap a Startup with a Paycheck as a Plan B Against Layoffs

New Year's Resolution - Bootstrap a Startup with a Paycheck as a Plan B Against Layoffs

I publish this series to discuss the nuances of bootstrapped entrepreneurship. Please subscribe to my Best of Bootstrapping series to never miss an article.

Unless you are self-employed, you can be fired anytime.

And if that happens, it’s best to be ready.

Michelle Munson was laid off.

She went on to start Aspera.

She sold Aspera to IBM.

Now she’s doing Eluvio, another startup.

That was a decade ago.

Now, with AI, mass lay-offs are inevitable.

Very likely, within this decade, AI is going to become savvy in writing code.

Instead of being emotional, let’s be strategic about it.

Developers need a Plan B.

Bootstrapping a startup while holding on to your job is a legitimate and intelligent Plan B.

If entrepreneurship is in your dreams, prepare for it.

Michelle Munson’s case study is in the 1Mby1M Curriculum.

You can join 1Mby1M Basic, and everyday, spend a couple of hours with a successful entrepreneur. Listening to one or two of my in-depth interviews.

It’s like having coffee with two experienced entrepreneurs who explain how to put one foot before the other.

Education and Inspiration will flow effortlessly.

You will save a lot of time by avoiding common mistakes.

Try it. Let me know how it goes.

If you think you need help, consider a free online mentoring session with me.

You can also jump into a full-year Acceleration by joining the 1Mby1M Premium program with me.

Or, start with our Curriculum-only 1Mby1M Basic option.
