Yacht Crew Arrested for Hydra Forest Fire

On June 22, 2024, 13 crew members of the luxury yacht PERSEFONI I were arrested for allegedly sparking a forest fire on Hydra Island by launching fireworks. The blaze scorched 300 acres of the island’s only pine forest. The incident has sparked outrage, with Hydra’s mayor condemning the reckless actions.

Cannes Yachting Festival 2024: Europe's Premier Boat Show

The 47th Cannes Yachting Festival , Europe's largest in-water boat show, will be held from the 10th to 15th September, on the French Riviera. Featuring nearly 700 boats, 600 exhibitors, and 160 new products, the event spans Vieux Port and Port Canto. Highlights include a new 2,000 sqm marina, a 2.5 km loop at Port Canto, and new VIP amenities.

Superyacht Australia shines at 11th Tahiti Rendezvous

The 11th Australia Tahiti Rendezvous, held by Superyacht Australia on Thursday 20th June and Friday 21st June at Marina Taina, Tahiti, connected Australian yacht industry representatives with 20 visiting vessels. Highlights included a Morning Tea Expo, Captains' Lunch, and an Aussie BBQ competition. The event promoted Australia's cruising options, refit facilities, and service providers, encouraging superyachts to explore the Asia Pacific region.
