Next Generation Suzuki Swift Concept Revealed
The Suzuki Swift hatchback is quite famous not only overseas but here in Pakistan as well. Swift is a sort of bread and butter for the Suzuki brand, and it can be judged from the fact that Suzuki has been able to sell more than 6 million units of this car worldwide since 2004. Swift has always been known for its sharper and sporty driving dynamics and is loved by people of all ages.
Overseas, the current 3rd Gen Swift was introduced almost seven years ago in 2016. Unfortunately, Pakistan customers started experiencing the same Swift back in February 2022, like in typical fashion. Suzuki Global has been working for quite some time to bring the next generation of the Swift to the market, and it’s long overdue.
Suzuki Japan has revealed the first images for the upcoming new Swift but in the shape of SWIFT CONCEPT. The production version is predicted to carry over the design as seen on the concept. Suzuki has not yet released more details and when the production version will debut, but for now, the concept vehicle will appear on the Japan Mobility show on October 26.
Changes in New Suzuki Swift
Anyways, suppose we believe that the concept will become a production version. In that case, the all-new Swift seems to have more evolutionary changes, rather revolutionary, and on first look, you might not even notice this being a new generation.
There is a new hood, front honeycomb grille, bumper, and headlights. On the side view, there is now a distinct character line on the upper portion of the doors. The door handle for the rear is now in the more conventional location rather than in the C-pillar. The roof profile slopes like the previous generation and has a similar-looking C pillar.

The rear also gets some treatment with a new taillight, bumper, and tailgate. I am sure to have many swift followers; the new design might not click on the rear, but again, it’s very subjective. The interior also gets a new dashboard layout with a floating infotainment screen, a new HVAC control, and an instrument cluster. The steering wheel is a classic Swift design, and overall, the interior looks improved, modern, and sporty.
It is pertinent to mention that Suzuki officially revealed the frontal image only for the concept vehicle, although the rear end and interior image have been in circulation on the web as well, and it’s not clear if it portrays the concept design in real.
Mechanical
There are no mechanical details, but Swift is expected to carry over the same HEARTECT platform from the 3rd generation and most probably similar engine configuration, including a 1L three-cylinder turbo or 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated. It is also expected that the next generation Swift will introduce ADAS functions besides overall improved structural and safety enhancement.
