Nine Developers Prequalified for Bahrain’s Sitra Integrated Water and Power Project (IWPP).

Bahrain's Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has prequalified nine international developers for the Sitra Independent Water and Power Plant (IWPP) project to enhance water and power infrastructure.

The facility will generate 1,200 MW and desalinate 30 million gallons daily. Prequalified companies include Al Jomaih Energy, Gulf Investment Corporation, China Machinery, and others. The contract will be awarded in Q1 2025.


ACWA Power secures $692 million financing for Egyptian wind farm.

Saudi-listed ACWA Power has secured $692 million for a 1,100-megawatt wind project in Egypt's Suez region, backed by various international and regional institutions. The 20-year loan will fund the project's development and maintenance.

Additionally, ACWA Power announced the full commercial operation of its 1,500 MW Sirdarya CCGT project in Uzbekistan, enhancing its role in regional utility services.
