Finland is testing the world’s first digital passport
Just like airline boarding passes and public transit tickets, our passports might soon make the leap to our personal devices—and turn our beloved stamp collections into a relic of the past. In August, Finland launched the world's first digital passport pilot program, which is set to run until February 2024. Read more about the new digital passports here.
Brazil reinstates visa requirements for travelers from the US, Canada, and Australia
If you’re heading to Brazil in the new year, there’s an extra step to add to your to-do list. Beginning January 10, travelers from the United States, Canada, and Australia will need to acquire an e-visa in order to enter the country. Until then, citizens of these countries will be able to visit Brazil—for business as well as pleasure without these short-term visitor visas (so long as they are staying for no more than 90 days.) A popular New York area airport is getting a new Centurion Lounge
There’s a new American Express Centurion Lounge location on the horizon. American Express announced it would be bringing its popular luxury lounge concept to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey for the first time. When the upscale lounge opens in 2026, it will be the third in the New York area, and it will mean a Centurion lounge will be available at all of New York City’s three major airports.
