Northern Supporter Experience Conference
The Northern Supporter Experience Conference is gaining momentum. It’s going to be an extraordinary event.
But, as I write, there are still plenty of spaces left.
Three Institute of Fundraising Regional Groups, the North East, North West and Yorkshire, have joined together to create the Supporter Experience Conference.
It is a Conference of a national standard but organised BY the North, FOR the North, IN the North, and with a Northern price-tag.
This is just some of the content. I’ll post more later.
The legendary Ken Burnett will ask: “Does a dearth of trust and confidence matter any more?” He will also be asking if fundraising is still letting down donors and beneficiaries? See if you agree with him. He has some pretty strong views and puts them forward with no holds barred. (I've seen the brand new and very controversial presentation he’s going to give.) But he won’t leave us feeling glum. He’ll inspire us to create the change that we can all make.
For my part, I’ll be talking about the similarities of fundraising between 1389 and 1960 (when I started full time fundraising), and the extraordinary differences since then.
On the basis of that I’ll also be stating what I believe are some very simple, obvious and profound principles that should guide our future work.
Claire Warner will be talking about how beneficiaries & their families can support your fundraising, in a really practical way and far more than you can imagine. And then tell you what to do tomorrow. She is someone who knows.
Eileen Hammond, the doyenne of the Institute of Fundraising in the North of England, will answer the question: “HOW DO YOU FUNDRAISE IN A POWER CUT?” Don’t ask me. I haven’t a clue. But I’m absolutely sure it will be both entertaining and very practical.
All for £55. In London it would cost you that much just to get there.

5yThannks Giles, as I can’t make the 21 Nov event, I meant generally to get involved with the Supporter Experience initiative. Let me know whom I should get in touch with. Regards, Elspeth

5yHi Giles, great to see this happening, and I had hoped to be there. Unfortunately and ironically, I have to be in London! I would love to get involved and would be pleased to speak to you or any of the IoF team to see how. Hope you're well. Elspeth (ex-NSPCC Sports Team!)
