Nour Builds A Better Tomorrow
The world may care about Syria or not, but there is someone from the country that cares for our future generation. You can’t stress enough about climate change. Every nation wants to be energy independent, but no one puts the effort into sustainability. From a young age, Nour Kaadan, the CEO of ECOBUILD, cared for nothing as much as she did for nature.
She thinks the care and consideration that she got as a daughter, and then as a spouse and mother, deeply molded her life in turning into this uplifting lady who can have an effect in this world.
To date, ECOBUILD has done over 300 sustainable projects in the middle east, reducing 40 million kilograms of carbon dioxide. These are humongous numbers and one feels we owe a lot to Nour.
As a consulting firm in the Sustainable Construction field, clients that ECOBUILD often deal with have this misconception that being sustainable means a lot of spending on the working process and also on infrastructure. Nour was able to educate them and show we can reduce operational costs by being more responsible. This was refreshing for many in the central and local governments, major international financing and non-profit agencies, commercial organizations, industries, developers, consultants, contractors, and private individuals. Innovation could offer them more than they could have possibly imagined.

Almost a decade ago, few were talking about going green or thinking about reducing the carbon footprint in the UAE. Being a country that relies on the oil business, many people wondered and even warned Nour if this was the right idea for a business in these parts of the world. But for Nour, it was more than just a business. This was something that needs to be done. Every person she met was curious about this idea. Being a woman, it was supposed to be harder to stand up for something that the world never really gave much thought to. Although the difference here was Nour Kaadan was not someone to take no for an answer. With her perseverance and dedication, she broke all the stigma and created one of the fastest-rising consulting firms in the sustainability sector.
The fact that the company never slowed down despite the pandemic or the economic crisis shows how planned and equipped they are as a solution provider. To show people the way, one needs to hold their own at all times, and that’s exactly what ECOBUILD did.
The company now looks to expand to other parts of the world, like Europe. They are already making a difference for many in the GCC. Like any other company, they too are looking for investors and stakeholders, but only those who care about sustainability.
Nour Kaadan needs to be celebrated. As we rush to conquer the world, it’s people like her that gives a chance to our future generation. The difference she makes to this world couldn’t be greater than this.
For her undying determination to make this a better place and for the change she has brought to this world, I induct Nour Kaadan into the book of 20 most influential business icons 2022.
