Case Study Winterisation of Aid delivery to Ukraine
Winterisation of non-food items (NFIs) is a critical component of humanitarian assistance in Ukraine, particularly given the region’s harsh winters and the ongoing conflict-related displacement. The extreme winter conditions, with temperatures often dropping below -20°C, create severe challenges for vulnerable populations, especially those living in inadequate shelter conditions, such as displaced individuals, low-income households, and those in conflict-affected areas.
Solvoz facilitated the enhancing of procurement capacity for an international medium-sized NGO. Our outsourcing Team leveraged our extensive technical expertise and specialist network to offer our client enhanced 'procurement capacity as a service'.
The process was developed in three different phases, from supporting detailed technical specifications customized to meet specific client requirements, launching a tender process using the Solvoz supplier database, significantly broadening client reach and finally delivered specialized technical and logistical support throughout each phase of the sourcing process.
Using our methodology the NGO could receive10 high-quality quotations in response to their RfQ within just two weeks with significant 74% reduction in process costs compared to outsourcing to external consultants. Additionally, with our support service the Organisation was able to efficiently and cost-effectively secure all necessary supplies in record time - an impressive 80% cost savings compared to in-sourcing.
