As we approach the end of 2024, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a journey through skill development, work-integrated education, future of work and industry collaborations. In this special Year in Review: Part 1, we revisit the highlights and milestones captured in The Skill Times e-magazine editions.

Key Highlights in Skill Development, NEP 2020, Industry Collaboration
January
In January, we explored diverse perspectives on skilling and upskilling from HR leaders, the potential of AI in education and skill development, and industry-specific training in AVGC-XR and Food Processing. The editions also featured leadership views on career counseling, robotics, and much more.
February
In February, the focus was on NEP 2020 implementation, space education for schools, and insights from the PSSCIVE National Conference. We also delved into industry-ready tech skills and promising career paths in Beauty, Fashion, Animation, and VFX, highlighting the importance of staying future-ready.

March
March brought essential discussions on the National Credit Framework (NCrF), the significance of 10 Bagless Days for schools, and the role of career counseling in bridging the skills gap. We also highlighted innovative training in electronics, NTTF’s contributions to technical education, and an online workshop on NEP 2020 for skill development. The month closed with insights into ESG skills, green hydrogen sector development, and Telangana’s skill initiatives, emphasizing the importance of career counseling in schools and colleges.
In March, we also celebrated International Women’s Day with a special edition celebrated inspiring stories of women, including the Drone Didis, and explored opportunities in Allied Healthcare, Telecom, and Vocational Teacher Training. We also shared insights on skills for women returning to work.
April
In April, we highlighted NCVET guidelines for the Training of Assessors, NEP 2020 in vocational education, and inspiring stories from aspiring beauty professionals at the World Skill Center, Odisha. Additionally, we explored the Skill India Digital Hub and its offerings in electronics, AI, and other technology courses. This month also examined the growing demand for skilled professionals in the beauty industry, emerging opportunities in tech careers, and how Degree Apprenticeships align with NEP 2020 objectives to transform youth employability.
