October 2022 - Forecasting
Future Forecasting is vital, even more so in challenging times. From the branding and marketing front, we've seen both B2B and B2C behaviours dramatically change with new channel preferences, greater emphasis on values, and consumer confidence being lost by many of the older, bigger brands and gained by the newer challenger brands. This is where the real work begins. All scenario planning requires an iterative approach with multiple simulation models for the stress testing of external variables beyond your business' control. Every business needs to be doing this. Start your comprehensive business planning now and you're more likely to come out stronger and more resilient. It's one of the reasons why we lean into research and academic reflection alongside the creativity of our design team to produce forward-facing marketing methodologies.
The greek stoic philosopher Epictetus wrote - “There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.”
There will always be challenges, and how we engage with them can lead to growth if we keep moving forward. Use the challenges in your environment to motivate you to action rather than to inaction. Dynamic iteration is going to be fundamental to sustainability over the next few months.
Your team needs you! With the current level of uncertainty in the markets, what employees need is certainty from their leaders. They need to know that business owners have their backs. That you'll support your teams through the challenges ahead - demonstrating, courage, strength and fortitude.
Need a little inspiration? From October we're launching a series of both online and in-person training seminars on the future of branding, B2B and B2C strategic targeting, consumer psychology and social media. For more information on upcoming seminars please contact - Ellie@mantrahq.com
