Objectives of the meeting:
Exchange of views on the status of the food systems and the role of the Parliaments and, more specifically, that of the Agrarian Committees in food systems transformation.
Create linkages amongst parliamentarians and Parliamentary bodies and FAO at both, regional and national level, through a region-wide exchange and networking.
Facilitate information sharing on good practices on legal frameworks and on public policies in selected countries.

The conference will focus on critical themes such as cutting-edge food science and technology, nutritional health, and research to promote sustainable technological innovation in the food domain and address the challenges posed by food safety, food security, and nutritional/dietary demands.

At the event, speakers, including representatives from the Government of Türkiye and FAO, will focus on these projects by presenting key lessons learned and examining methods for fostering synergies between the projects and programmes implemented within and outside of the region. Additionally, they will discuss strategies for a more effective and efficient implementation of the projects under the FAO–Türkiye Forestry Partnership Programme.
