  • Deep Tech Skills Days

This two-day event will bring together stakeholders committed to skilling, upskilling, and reskilling talents in deep tech fields, providing an opportunity to connect with new stakeholders, companies, training organisations and academia.

  • Regional meeting of national parliament representatives on agrifood systems

Location: Tirana, Albania

Date: October 22-23

Objectives of the meeting: 

Exchange of views on the status of the food systems and the role of the Parliaments and, more specifically, that of the Agrarian Committees in food systems transformation.

Create linkages amongst parliamentarians and Parliamentary bodies and FAO at both, regional and national level, through a region-wide exchange and networking.

Facilitate information sharing on good practices on legal frameworks and on public policies in selected countries.

  • Regulating theFuture of Food Conference!

Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Date: October 23-24

The aim of this conference is to:

  • Discuss the key challenges we face as an industry.
  • Identify what we need for science-based risk assessment for different types of alternative proteins and products derived from food-tech.
  • Propose changes to current regulatory frameworks to enable more optimal routes to market without compromising on safety.
  • Work with each other to openly discuss what is missing and what the industry needs.
  • Define concrete action points and recommendations that can be used as drivers for change.

  • The 5th International Electronic Conference on Foods The Future of Technology, Sustainability, and Nutrition in the Food Domain

Location: Online

Date: October 28-30

The conference will focus on critical themes such as cutting-edge food science and technology, nutritional health, and research to promote sustainable technological innovation in the food domain and address the challenges posed by food safety, food security, and nutritional/dietary demands.

  • Mediterranean Forest Week: Regional and national activities of Türkiye in cooperation with FAO

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Date: November 4-8

At the event, speakers, including representatives from the Government of Türkiye and FAO, will focus on these projects by presenting key lessons learned and examining methods for fostering synergies between the projects and programmes implemented within and outside of the region. Additionally, they will discuss strategies for a more effective and efficient implementation of the projects under the FAO–Türkiye Forestry Partnership Programme.

  • Improving Diets and Nutrition through Food Systems: What Will it Take? A Dialogue on IFPRI’s 2024 Global Food Policy Report

Location: The Hague, The Netherlands 

Date: November 6

In addition to a presentation of the report’s key findings and recommendations by IFPRI’s leading researchers in diets and nutrition, a distinguished panel of European and country partner policy makers, and representatives of multilateral institutions will discuss the report. Expert remarks will focus on key challenges and opportunities for EU stakeholders to support the transformation of food systems to advance nutrition and healthy diets in low and middle-income countries.
