Ode to the Black Woman

Ode to the Black Woman

mygreatauntedna.com

Sista. Mother. Auntie. Big Momma. Lover. Friend. Mentor. Teacher. Leader. I acknowledge the whole of you.

Some have said that all things are not meant for you. I disagree. All things are because of you.

You are Adam's delight. You are birth, right? This makes you the devil's fright. You are a pithy of Excellence.

Now it is time for you to be water. Do not be still. Continue to move through crevices that man cannot go. Glide smoothly to be unnoticed, but move swiftly when it is necessary to create power through the multitude of electrons in your being. Turn hard and cold when it is time for you to take shape and be noticed. Be ice. Chill the room. And when the heat is turned up in attempts to dissipate you into the atmosphere unseen, after you elevate to heights in the atmosphere when they think you are no longer relevant, REIGN down on the very heads of those who turned up the heat and make them take shelter.

Black Woman. I see you.
