OECR AND ITS BREAKFAST BUSINESS MEETINGS

Next week on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, the Organization of Expert Conflict Resolvers (“OECR”) will be holding its December 2019 bi-monthly (every other month) Business Breakfast meeting from 7:30am to 10:00am, at La Scala Restaurant, MUSON Centre, Onikan Lagos. It will feature a round-table discussion on the theme: “Mediation Unboxed – Multiple Dimensions of Conflict Resolution”.

It promises to be quite engaging as we explore Mediation and Conflict Resolution beyond the bounds of litigious and dispute driven, or court directed, matters to other dimension of conflict resolution. It is planned to be highly interactive, with our panel comprising seasoned professionals in the field, namely: Mr. Bunmi Oni; Dr. Adeyemi Agbelusi; and Mrs. Yinka Kolade. Please see the e-flyer below for more details.

The Organization of Expert Conflict Resolvers (“OECR”) is a networking and knowledge sharing/building group of Mediators, Conciliators, Negotiators and Conflict Resolution experts committed to maintaining professional skills and ethics in Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) and, in particular, Mediation, in line with international best practices.

Along with other like-minded practitioners and experts, we aim to raise the bar in Conflict Resolution, with a focus on Conciliation, Mediation, and Negotiation. OECR will provide them an invaluable platform for networking, and sharpening the saw through the exchange of ideas, learnings, and the fostering of relevant best practices. Part of our Vision is to encourage a Mediatory lifestyle, policy, and practice among individuals, institutions, and other corporate organizations as the new norm in business practice and policy, especially in the resolution of disputes and conflicts.

OECR will be holding these business breakfast meetings, bi-monthly, on the second Wednesday of every other month, unless otherwise advised or announced. The first of these business breakfasts held last October, at at La Scala Restaurant, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, with whom we are partnering as our venue of choice for these meetings. The guest speaker of the day was the Chairman of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Arbitration Centre (“LACIAC”), Babatunde Fagbohunlu, Esq. SAN, FCIArb.

Mr. Fagbohunlu is a seasoned legal practitioner and very experienced Chartered Arbitrator. Uncommonly, he has an ardent passion for Mediation and is a vocal advocate for reforms in the Judicial system that would make better positioned for resolution of conflicts through an effectual ADR Institution.  Below are some pictures from the meeting.

We look forward to welcoming you on December 11, 2019, at 7:30am.
