No one is hiring. What do I do?

“I’m not even getting interviews. All I hear is radio silence.”

It's not just the tech industry, and it’s definitely not YOU.

There have been a lot of unknowns in 2023 and 2024, and they are TRIPPING.

PEOPLE. UP. 😅😅😅And yet some people and companies are thriving right now.They’re in their “winning at life” era. 👑

So what gives? What’s the difference? 🤔

The professionals crushing it in 2023 and 2024 understand things are different and you gotta change WITH the times.

Here's how they’re doing it:

👉 They know that, to get a different result, you have to do something different. They’re willing to do things most people aren’t willing to do.

👉 They’re not afraid to switch things up and take risks. (Most people aren’t willing to venture outside of the status quo.)

👉 They’re trying new things. Sending out tons of resumes doesn’t work anymore, so they’re game to market themselves differently.

👉 They’re not waiting around for someone to tell them what they should be doing. They’re out there innovating and taking responsibility for their results.

Their biggest shift?

From “checking boxes,” “going through the motions,” “waiting around to see what pops up on job boards” to “I want THIS kind of opportunity, and I’m going to figure out how to get it.”

The days of strategically neutral job seekers who’ll “take whatever” are over.

And, if you think about it, it’s not a very attractive energy anyway.Would you want to be with a romantic partner who will take ANYONE just to say they’re not alone? 🤔

My prediction?

Here are the people who are going to crash and burn:

👎  People caught up in scarcity and fear

👎  People who, instead of accepting change in the market and using this as an opportunity to deepen their creative muscles and have fun, are doubling down and holding on for dear life to outdated job search practices.

They’re following the approach,

“If it doesn’t work, do it 5 times harder!"&“If I didn’t get a response from these 600 resumes, I’ll send out 1,200 more and post on LinkedIn about what a martyr I am for doing everything right and not getting ANY bites!”

👎  People who bury their heads in the sand and pretend that none of this is happening.Who are you going to be? 🤔

Are you going to succumb to your fears or are you going to use this time to find out what your real values are and ask how you can show up even more courageously?
