One of the secrets to getting a job quicker than everyone else you know!

One of the secrets to getting a job quicker than everyone else you know!

This is outside of using your connections….

Make sure you’re doing that…

Outside of reaching out to hiring managers…

Make sure you’re doing that…

This is the key that got me back on my feet when I lost my job and into a new one before I started our search firm.

It was taking back control of your time.

Its amazing how much time flies and how much you think you got done…

When in reality…

You got nothing done and another day is lost…

I don’t know about you… But outside of being ADHD (what executive recruiter isn’t) when I would sit down and start hunting for a new job… The next you thing you know… I was on Facebook, Instagram, joining a LinkedIn Debate with a “LinkedIn Influencer” or I needed an Xbox break…

By the end of the day…

I thought I turned out a ton of applications and sent out a ton of messages to hiring managers….

But I would look back at and realize I only sent a few messages and only a few applications….

Time just got away from me!

This happened day in and day out.

Come to find out I wasn’t alone...

The average person that isn’t working only spends 48 minutes per day job hunting…

Prior to Covid-19… It also took most people 39 weeks to land a new job.

If you think about that. 48 minutes per day… for a workweek… that only equates to only 4 hours of working per week.

Back in your job… How much work could you get done working only 4 hours per week! (I know someone is going to mention the 4-hour workweek by Tim Ferris… If you have mastered the job search in a 4-hour workweek… More power to you and I hope you landed the gig of your dreams! I know there are things you can automate to multiply your time and I talked about that right here)

This is where you need to think about making your job searching a full-time job.

While most people are only spending 4 hours per week. You are getting 10 times more done than they are.

Now I have to say… Make sure you are being productive and I talk about that here!

Now to keep on track.

I had to figure out where I was spending my time and plan out my day.

Time can get away from you quickly and it's surprising where it goes once you start to track it.

If you have a planner that you have used in the past… go back and grab it.

If not let me know and I can send you over something I drew up to help you keep track of the job search each week.

If your one of my friends… I want you to get back to work as soon as you can.

I have the Job Hunters Weekly Schedule available here: Along with a little explainer video on how to use it.

(I have nothing to sell, no online course to push…. Just every night for the last 2 weeks this has been bugging me as I have been going to bed. So if this helps one person. Mission accomplished and I can actually go back to sleep at night without this keeping me up for hours)
