One Shot Well Treatment

The oil and gas industry faces many obstacles with the production of oil. Some of the most costly issues facing the industry are paraffin, asphaltenes, scale, bitumen, and other corrosion. Those things have been known to plug a well or pipeline and cause equipment failure.

The most deadly of the issues, besides pressure, is the presence of H2S. H2S is found in the natural gas, water, oil, and solids on many locations. This gas is heavier than air and has been documented to kill humans, livestock, and wildlife. The following chart shows the symptoms of H2S poisoning:

H2S warning signs Concentration in parts per million (ppm)* Observations and health effects:

  1. Less than 1ppm - Most people smell “rotten eggs.”
  2. 3 to 5 ppm - Odour is strong.
  3. 20 to 150 pmm - Nose and throat feel dry and irritated. Eyes sting, itch, or water; and “gas eye” symptoms may occur. Prolonged exposure may cause coughing, hoarseness, shortness of breath, and runny nose.
  4. 150 to 200 ppm - Sense of smell is blocked (olfactory fatigue).
  5. 200 to 250 ppm - Major irritation of the nose, throat, and lungs occurs, along with headache, nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Prolonged exposure can cause fluid buildup in the lungs (pulmonary edema), which can be fatal.
  6. 300 to 500 ppm - Symptoms are the same as above, but more severe. Death can occur within 1 to 4 hours of exposure.
  7. Above 500 ppm - Immediate loss of consciousness. Death is rapid, sometimes immediate.

These issues and many more can be dealt with in One Shot. Our lab tests and field tests have proven the effectiveness of One Shot on these issues; therefore, would save the operator down time and money.

  • H2S - using One Shot on 200 ppm H2S gas, we were able to reduce it to a safe 1.05 ppm within a few seconds of starting the injection.
  • Paraffin - lab reports show that we are able to bring paraffin levels down from 286,000 ppm to less than 400 ppm (undetectable) with a 1:5500 ratio.
  • BS&W - In a field test we took 400 barrels of 47% BS&W at a reclamation facility and treated it with 5 gallons of One Shot Well Treatment. We circulated the tank the for three hours and let sit for six hours. The results were .04% BS&W with 81% less Iron Oxide.

In summary, the VSP One Shot Well Treatment has proven to hold a vital spot within the arsenal of the oil and gas industry. One Shot Solutions, LLC works hard to help operators cut expenses, increase revenue, reduce their impact on the environment, and make their locations safer.
