One To Three are Turning Twelve!

We can’t quite believe that we launched our business 12 years ago, in February 2010! Who’d have thought 2 friends who met aged 12 would be celebrating this milestone! You’ve heard of the 12 days of Christmas, so we thought it would be fun to share the 12 years of One To Three, with a few highlights along the way.

2010 – Best friends became business partners and One To Three Marketing Solutions was launched with a website created by Lisa in HTML code and content written by Claire (it’s come a long way since then)! One of our very first clients was A.B. Walker Funeral Directors and we still enjoy working with them today.

2011 – Claire started working with Vets4Pets, then Companion Care who had around 40 veterinary practices. We are proud to still work with the marketing team every day and Vets4Pets now have over 450 surgeries across the country!

2012 – In August 2012, we wrote a blog about our “hand holding” offering. Basically offering marketing consultancy as a one off, or for a number of sessions, rather than signing up for ongoing, regular support. It’s amazing that 10 years on, this is one of the greatest areas of growth for our business.

2013 – This year saw us working with large, established marketing agencies for the first time, delivering workshops training other marketing professionals. Who’d have thought ‘little old us’ would be called in to train the staff of a multi-million pound agency? Our SEO workshops were also brand new for 2013 and we delivered 30 social media workshops, empowering other small businesses to take control of their online marketing.

2014 - Investing in our own marketing was one of our goals for 2014 to ensure we practiced what we preached. We launched a new website, invested in new imagery and headshots and increased our blogging, sharing hints and tips and useful information with our clients. We also networked more than ever and we need to give a shout out to the WIBN and Athena network, where we were members for over 20 years (combined).

2015 – We introduced our group training sessions, allowing business owners to attend small group sessions at affordable prices. These group sessions were incredibly popular and we ran them every month for 5 years (up until 2020 when COVID struck). Being able to share our knowledge and help others manage their own marketing is a definite highlight of the work we do at One to Three. It was also the year that Lisa turned 40 and we enjoyed a girls’ trip away to Barcelona.

2016 – Milly the black Labrador joined Lisa’s family and our regular board walks were born! We used to meet up every 4-6 weeks to discuss plans, but adding a dog walk into the mix meant we could brainstorm ideas whilst getting some exercise and fresh air. It was also the year Claire turned 40, so more celebrations. Claire also started working regularly in the offices of OVL and she still works with this client today.

2017 – Having moved our regular board meeting outdoors, we decided to take this one step further and booked a spa day. We recognise this sounds like pure relaxation and fun, but in all seriousness we’ve made some of our best decisions there, so we try and plan an annual trip to Nirvana Spa. This was also the year we had our first team Christmas lunch as Max and Millie became firm fixtures in supporting our work. We were also approached by a Government scheme to be a preferred supplier in training local businesses in social media.

2018 – One of our clients works closely with Battersea and we decided to sign up for the Muddy Dog Challenge and raised over £300 for Battersea. Muddy dogs and muddy humans, but smiles all round at this great charity event. Claire also took part in her first Moonwalk and along with her team raised over £1,000 for breast cancer research. On a work front, in 2018 we trained over 125 individuals via our workshops. We are proud that we have helped so many small business owners and employees to feel empowered with their social media and SEO knowledge.

2019 – Another busy year as the business grew, but our highlight for this year was our first holiday away together as families (we’re all about a healthy work / life balance)! We enjoyed a gorgeous break exploring Dorset with our husbands, 4 teenagers and 3 dogs. We also enjoyed an amazing weekend away at the one and only Fido-Fit camp, a fun-packed, activity weekend with our four legged friends!

2020 – We turned 10 and enjoyed the most amazing celebrations with our husbands in London. However, just a few weeks later the country was in lockdown due to COVID. This was probably one of the hardest years for us, especially as so many clients we’ve worked with over the years were impacted. We launched a number of new packages to help clients with “bite-size” marketing and these sessions are still popular today.

2021 – Who knew that we’d be working via Zoom for the vast majority of our meetings? One of our highlights was getting our team together in the Summer in person for a team lunch, overlooking the marina in Bourne End. We could also meet up at Christmas for our annual Christmas lunch at the Ivy in Marlow. We’re so grateful to have such a wonderful group of ladies to support us.

2022 – We’ve started the year as busy as ever, still working with our regular clients and we’ve already signed up a few new clients for the year. We’ll continue to work flexibly to suit our clients and are excited to see what the year ahead brings. We have our business spa day in the diary, who knows what brilliant ideas will come to us in the hydro-pool!

What an amazing 12 years it’s been, with so many highs and only a few lows. We feel truly lucky that we get to work together, helping other small businesses to grow and follow their dreams.
