Online Conference proposal ***

Is there sufficient interest in pulling together another online Global Conference like the free conferences the Futocracy Network hosted in 2021 and 2022?  After some initial discussions we have narrowed our focus to two possible themes, each with several possible conference titles.

Option A – focus on post-Industrial Era organizations

·      Confronting our Industrial Era Paradigm – Rethinking the Nature of Work

·      The New Era Organization – clearing bureaucratic bottlenecks

·      New Era Organizations & AI’s growing impact

·      Organizing for distributed decision-making and routine adaptation

Option B – expand on how AI is likely to impact organizations and leadership

·      The Future of Work – the convergence of AI & societal change

·      AI & the Future of Work

·      AI and the New Era Organization

·      AI facilitated management

All the possible themes and conference titles above have some similarity, but each has a different emphasis.  Which works best for you and what you would like to see in a conference?

Format – two-hour blocks for a presentation followed by Q&A or a short presentation to set the stage for an interactive roundtable discussion.

Speakers – leading edge thinkers who have insights on the intersection of societal changes and technology.  The emphasis will be on practice (not theory alone).

Target audience – mid to upper-level managers & leaders (plus coaches & consultants advising them) looking for ideas that they can take back and use within their organizations.  Building our Future by the Decisions we make Today.

Conference planning is underway at – https://www.futocracy.network/spaces/13049538/content

*** Let me know if you consider yourself a thought leader and have some interest in serving on the conference planning committee.

Exploring how organizations, leadership, and change are evolving for the Future of Work

After looking at the AI discussions, I am leaning toward Option A which focuses on New Era Organizations and their response to AI. When I try to find a central focus of AI, I am not finding it since the breadth of impact is so large with multiple types of AI and everything from custom solutions to off-the-shelf packages that are adapted.

Both options are of interest to me. Building on what others have said, I think A has been done more, I could personally contribute more and B is more seductive as AI feels like the next silver bullet. Personally I have mush to learn in this space. Would the intention of B be to approach the questions from the perspective of different rather than better future? Like others, I can see the overlap between the two but think A has greater opportunity for reflection where B is more predictive?

Dr. Ross Wirth interesting and happy to explore to add value. Though both subjects are interesting I have a preference for subject 2. Lots of interesting stuff on the go in that space

Dear Ross, both/and is what comes up. They are not mutually exclusive and infuse each other.

Ross, great idea. Both options are of interest - perhaps B more so. Thanks John.
