ONPEAK Energy Secures Major Energy Deal with Playa Hotels & Resorts to Drive Future Savings and Business Continuity

ONPEAK Energy has achieved a significant milestone in the hospitality and renewable energy sectors, finalizing the contractual phase for a series of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with Playa Hotels & Resorts. These upcoming projects, totaling 14.6 MWh across four resorts, are set to deliver an estimated $1.3 million in annual energy savings once fully implemented.

Through detailed energy audits, ONPEAK identified key challenges faced by Playa’s properties, such as frequent power interruptions and high energy costs during peak demand hours. By working closely with Playa’s management, ONPEAK developed a tailored BESS solution aimed at addressing these issues. The implementation of these systems will enable Playa to optimize energy use, reduce costs through peak shaving, and enhance business continuity by mitigating power disruptions.
