In the UAE, Nakheel awarded a US$220 Mn contract for the marine works on Palm Jebel Ali to Jan De Nul Dredging. The scope of work includes dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling and sand placement and directly supporting the construction of villas across all fronds.
The first eight fronds of the project are expected to be site-ready by the first quarter of 2025, allowing for the commencement of villa infrastructure and civil works.
Abundance Solar Panels Industries to establish a sophisticated solar panel plant in KEZAD Area A
Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi – KEZAD Group and UAE-based Abundance Solar Panels Industries have announced the signing of a 50-year land lease agreement for the establishment of a sophisticated solar panel plant in KEZAD Area A spanning over 27,000sq.m.
To be developed with a US$15 Mn investment, the plant will manufacture solar panels and integrated photovoltaic modules.
Apex Engineering Industries to establish a manufacturing facility in KEZAD
In a similar development, KEZAD Group signed a 50-year land lease agreement with Apex Engineering Industries, a UAE-based company, to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to produce industrial parts, components, machinery, and equipment for the oil and gas, locomotive, and defence sectors.
The facility, set to span 40,000 square metres, will involve an investment of US$24.5 Mn.

In Saudi Arabia, Sahara International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) awarded a US$169 Mn engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the expansion of its affiliate Al Waha’s propylene and polypropylene plants to SGC E&C Co., Ltd. and SGC ARABIA COMPANY Limited.
The scope includes efficiency improvement and expansion of the PDH-PP plants, increasing production capacity by 72,000 tons of propylene and 150,000 tons of polypropylene.

Egypt's General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the US multinational Black & Decker held talks last week in Cairo to discuss establishing the company's first factory for electrical equipment and tools in the Middle East and Africa.
According to GAFI's statement, this significant investment would mark Black & Decker’s first major production facility outside the US and Europe, placing Egypt as a key hub for meeting local market demand and advancing its role as an export centre in the region.
