OPEN CALL FOR TENDER - PREQUALIFICATION

1.    GENERAL CONDITIONS

1.1 Requester: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), Office Tirana, Rruga “Asim Zeneli”, Nd. nr. 6/10

1.2 Profile:  

The Sustainable Rural Development Program (SRD/GIZ) works with businesses and the government to increase competitiveness and raise income in the rural areas of Albania. Together, we establish innovations in agriculture and rural tourism, scale them in the market and build a strong enabling environment. We focus on vegetables, fruits, dairy, and medicinal plants in agricultural value chains, and promote outdoor sports, agritourism, and destination management in rural tourism.

We do this in the context of EU accession, promoting green growth, fostering digitization, and advancing diversity. In cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, SRD II is implemented by GIZ, on behalf of the German Government, between 2023 and 2026.

2.    SUBJECT

With SRD II, the focus when it comes to the development of tourism products will be strengthening economic development and the employment and income situation in Albania, especially in rural areas, with a specific focus on women and young people, by identification and scaling of economically, socially, and ecologically viable innovations in the agri-food sector and in rural tourism.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is looking for a consulting company to implement TIP – Tourism Innovative Platform Competition, with the aim of identifying new innovative tourism products in the rural tourism sector, all around Albania, that are viable business models with potential for upscaling.

The consulting company that will be contracted will work closely with SRD II to conceptualize the process, organize, and implement TIP competition.

3. ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility: Participation is open to all companies which:

Are effectively established in Albania for more than 5 years

Have all the resources to offer a combination of coaching, mentorship, event organization services, together with networking opportunities, and other resources to support the growth and success of business models in the rural tourism sector.

Have at least 3 similar experiences in organising and implementing competitions days and coaching/mentoring sessions.

4. DEADLINE

The due date for submitting the application is 23.03.2023. The documents should be submitted in pdf format via e-mail to: AL_Inquiry@giz.de, marked “83433539 – TIP-Tourism Innovation Platform”

After the due date for submitting the application, the process of prequalification will follow. The submitted applications will be evaluated, and only prequalified candidates will be invited to answer the bid. All written communication for this procedure and the following successful ones must be in English.
