OPIOID OVERDOSE DEATHS DOUBLE to nearly 600: ‘I don’t see any stop’

These numbers are staggering! The lives that are being lost are someones child, sister, brother, mother, father, husband and wife. We need to find out what is working, otherwise we will continue to chase an elusive foe. Is it treatment, peer to peer recovery support, mental health counseling or law enforcement. For several years now I have seen graph after graph and the death toll continues to rise. We are a smart county with smart people, their has to be a solution. If something does not happen, a whole generation is in jeopardy.

Such a devastating and complex problem. Focusing on the drugs has not produced effective results. Perhaps our efforts would be better directed at addressing the broken family unit and personal wounds.

Change begins with action. Lets change it. One person at a time. If you have an initiatives that need assistance I would be willing to volunteer my time.
