Opportunities come disguised as hard work

If you change the way you look at things the things you look at change. - Wayne Dyer
You will see it when you believe it - Wayne Dyer
I have been studying law of attraction and power of our intuition since years now. My study started after I read Think and Grow Rich and Master Keys to riches by Napoleon Hill. Based on my personal experience, I have seen that the problem with majority of people these days is that they have lost touch with their own intuition or gut feeling. In my humble opinion , the reason for this can be their busy life or just listening to everyone and anyone, trying to follow what everyone is doing and copy them , failure to quiet our own mind. We are human beings and we have our own uniqueness. We are not copy cats. Something which is good or bad for someone else might not be same for us. Most of the people miss out on great opportunities because they lack the knowledge of what they want in life and they try to seek opinions from everyone. They have certain presumption in their mind that an opportunity will be of certain type or in certain form. But in real world, opportunity presents itself in a disguise. Most of the times in my life, it came to me as a problem. Like a walnut , wrapped in hard shell. Once I broke open the shell, I was able to enjoy the sweet nutty flavor of the walnut.
Opportunity will come as a disguise. Hence people who are praying for one, must learn to quiet their mind from the opinion of others and listen to their own feelings and intuition. Mediate if the need be to quite the mind but learn to develop and trust your intuition. I woke up my intuition by meditation, making sure that only good things enter my mind, staying focused on what I want and stop listening to opinions of anyone who does not have the life which I want or who cannot help me achieve my goals.
This reminds me of a story which I had read when I was a child.
A old fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.
Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, "Jump in, I can save you."
The stranded fellow shouted back, "No, it's OK, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me."
So the rowboat went on.
Then a motorboat came by. "The fellow in the motorboat shouted, "Jump in, I can save you."
To this the stranded man said, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."
So the motorboat went on.
Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, "Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety."
To this the stranded man again replied, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."
So the helicopter reluctantly flew away.
Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, "I had faith in you but you didn't save me, you let me drown. I don't understand why!"
To this God replied, "I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?"
Wishing you all a fun filled life full of opportunities.
