Organic Marketing and Why Your Business Can't Rely Solely On It Fill Your Events, Webinars & Challenges
Organic or Paid Marketing, which is best?
It’s a constant debate, with arguments on both sides.
But when it comes to filling your events, webinars & challenges – there’s only one option.
There’s only one way to get large numbers of high-quality people in your virtual and physical rooms.
And that my friends, is Paid Marketing.
But Organic Marketing has it’s merits.
After all, people do Organic all of the time, right?
It must have it’s uses.
And it absolutely does – but those uses and merits are significant limited.
When you’re first starting out, running your first event, webinar or challenge – organic is a great place to start.
But as you grow, run more webinars and events – and want to fill more seats – organic just doesn’t cut it.
And in this weeks edition of Event-Full Marketing I want to share why.
As I said in the intro, Organic Marketing has and will always have a place.
But there gets to a point in your business where you can’t solely rely upon it.
It will always play a role in your business, but that role will be diminished.
When you grow from 10 people into your event/webinars to 100, organic will only get you more or less the same signups both times.
That’s because it cannot be leveraged, controlled and scaled.
When you have a marketing message, platform or strategy that works effectively – you of course want to do it more and ramp it up.
But with organic, you can’t.
Sure you can make more posts, but your audience is still at the same levels albeit growing slowly.
So by relying solely on organic marketing your growth and income is severely handicapped.
You can only grow so fast and so much organically.
Of course the key benefit of organic marketing is the cost – other than your time, you don’t have to pay for anything else to do it.

But when that limits how many people you can reach – it costs you a lot more than just your time.
Paid Marketing
Paid marketing, FB Ads etc. does of course cost, but by being able to scale the results you get it makes it more than worthwhile.
When you’re starting out, organic will be the source of 100% of all your leads, customers and clients.
But as you grow, that percentage will decrease.
Sure, you could be stubborn and patient and simply continue to grow organically and accept it’s slower.
But I’ve seen and helped businesses of all shapes and sizes transform, grow and reap the rewards by switching from organic to paid.
And remember, it’s not just about the money.
Paid marketing allows you to reach and help more people than ever – to share your message and story with more people than you’ve ever dreamt of.
Your impact on this world is multiplied a thousand fold.
You just can’t do that with organic only.
Do a combination of organic and paid.
Starting out 50/50, but eventually as you grow it will become 25/75… 10/90… 1/99.
It’s critical to understand the role organic plays, but also their limitations. No business can grow decently utilising it by itself.
And sure, you’ll come across the occasional business that has claimed to have been grown entirely organically.
And yeah on occasion it happens. But it’s rare, and often happens on the back of other activity – not just organic.
So do organic, but don’t just do organic.
