ORYO HE: Revolutionising retail lighting with high-efficiency

Earlier this year, the ORYO family welcomed a new addition to its range - the ORYO HE (High Efficiency). Known for its sleek, modern design and premium quality, the ORYO series is a staple in both high-end retail and hospitality sectors, but the latest model is set to redefine what lighting can achieve, particularly in terms of energy efficiency.

To learn more about this high-efficiency breakthrough, we spoke with Maren Breitenberger, Head of Product Management and Marketing at LTS, who shared insights into the vision behind the ORYO HE and its benefits.

The evolution of the ORYO family

The ORYO family of luminaires was initially crafted with a focus on aesthetics and quality. Designed for retail spaces, such as boutique stores and high-end hospitality venues, the series quickly gained popularity due to its sophisticated yet subtle appearance.

The spotlights were originally designed to provide premium lighting solutions that balanced visual appeal with energy efficiency. Whilst offering a high level of efficiency, the focus was on delivering exceptional lighting experiences for exclusive spaces where design and quality were key. As sustainability standards have evolved, the challenge has been to elevate this efficiency even further, ensuring that the spotlights continue to lead the way in both cutting-edge design and responsible energy use.

Clients began to express a desire for a more efficient lighting solution that did not compromise on ORYO’s signature design and light quality. The feedback was clear: retail environments, which are often bustling and constantly require illumination, needed a solution that combined style and simplicity with sustainability.

The demand for efficiency

Customer feedback played a pivotal role in the development of the ORYO HE.

Maren explains: “Clients loved the design, functionality, and lighting performance, but identified a growing need for even greater energy efficiency in certain projects. While the ORYO family already upheld strong sustainability standards, this insight drove the push to enhance its efficiency further, ensuring it meets the evolving demands of both performance and environmental responsibility.”

Listening to this feedback, the team began to conceptualise a version of ORYO that would meet these demands. They focused on creating a spotlight that would maintain high standards of design and light quality while significantly improving energy efficiency, leading to the development of the ORYO HE. By maintaining the sleek and streamlined design, the ORYO HE seamlessly complements the minimalist architecture and interior aesthetics that define modern spaces today.

High efficiency meets high design

The ORYO HE is designed for energy-conscious retail spaces, maintaining the ORYO family’s sleek, conical shape while significantly enhancing efficiency. Using the same light head as the original, the ORYO HE upgrades its internal components – such as the LED module and driver – for optimal performance. Simplified with basic on/off functionality and no unnecessary elements, it maximises efficiency without compromising design. If the client prioritises additional features, such as customisable colour temperatures, over maximum efficiency, the original ORYO model is the better recommendation.

Key to its success is the BBBL module, which ensures vivid, precise, and brilliant colour rendering—an essential feature for retail spaces where product presentation is key. The ORYO HE doesn’t just illuminate; it brings products to life, highlighting their features with unmatched clarity.

To further lower its carbon footprint the packaging has been reduced to a minimum, allowing for larger quantities in multipack form, which not only reduces transport volume but also cuts down on packaging materials. This makes the ORYO HE not only energy-efficient but also eco-friendly.

Flexibility and control

In addition to its sustainable design, the ORYO HE offers flexibility in lighting performance. A DIP switch allows users to adjust the lumen output to match specific needs, optimising both power consumption and performance. This level of customisation ensures that retailers can achieve the desired lighting effect while minimising energy use, further enhancing the ORYO HE's sustainability credentials.

A new era for retail lighting

The launch of the ORYO HE marks a significant step forward for the ORYO luminaire family and the retail lighting industry. By balancing style, performance, and energy efficiency, the ORYO HE meets the growing demand for sustainable solutions without compromising on the premium quality that the ORYO brand is known for.

With its high efficiency, superior light quality, and eco-conscious design, the ORYO HE is set to become a go-to choice for retailers looking to enhance their spaces while reducing their environmental impact. The ORYO family is redefining what it means to light up a space, and with the ORYO HE, the future looks both brighter and greener.

Measuring efficiency beyond competition

“We are confident that we have developed a spotlight with superior efficiency, potentially exceeding 160 lumens per watt, which is an impressive benchmark for spotlights,” Maren comments, “While there are other products on the market, we don’t view all of them as direct competitors, as our approach differs significantly. For us, it’s not just about efficiency; it’s about delivering a seamless combination of aesthetics, design, and performance.”

In short, the ORYO HE is changing the game for retail lighting, offering a perfect mix of energy efficiency, sleek design, and sustainability. It’s a great example of how LTS listens to customer feedback and continues to innovate, creating lighting solutions that not only look amazing but also meet today’s demands for eco-friendly and high-performance products.
