Our Focus on Giving Back

Contributing to a meaningful cause, whether it's assisting at a food bank, participating in tree-planting initiatives, or leveraging professional skills to support a charity, fosters connections within the local community and strengthens bonds with colleagues across different teams.

While some businesses and industries face more obstacles than others, there are actionable steps to enhance feasibility. At Access, charity is ingrained in our values, and we offer various initiatives empowering our team to give back and make a positive impact.

Our team members also have the opportunity to dedicate their time to giving back to their local community or chosen causes, with an extra day's leave to make this possible. 

Curious about which industries are the most generous in offering paid volunteer days?

While some organisations have established CSR (corporate and social responsibility) strategies with volunteering opportunities, others might be more reluctant as these require careful planning and management, or the companies cannot justify having people out of the office, even for a day. But how much does it vary across different industries?  

To find out, we analysed almost 1,000 businesses across 20 sectors:

Industries with limited or no volunteer days often have dispersed workforces across multiple sites and varied shift patterns.

Labour-intensive sectors such as warehousing, logistics, transport, manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality, facing skills shortages, may employ more temporary or agency workers who may be less engaged in company activities beyond their specific roles. Read more insights.

How can technology support organisations with their volunteering initiatives?

Technology serves as an ally on both fronts. The right software can empower HR teams to deliver initiatives through a centralised platform, enabling employees to champion causes and ignite involvement.
