Our Learning Culture Sparks

Our Learning Culture Sparks

Redefining how our team is learning

“In 2020, our global team has doubled in size and we’re so happy to welcome new team members to our Oniverse. But with our hyper growth, comes great responsibility. To keep our culture and continue our growth, we had to become very flexible. This also included our learning strategy” says Marie-Valerie Schnyder from our Engagement & Growth team.

While exploring the different options available, we quickly understood that an “all size fits all” approach wouldn’t work for us. We wanted our team members to be co-creators of their own learning and development journeys.

From zero to hundred - getting up to speed

“Just like our co-founders, we started from scratch with learning and development. We looked into different solutions before teaming up with Degreed, our learning platform. In 2019 we launched a dedicated global knowledge hub, where each team member can personalise their own learning experience. We know not all people have the same way of learning, so there shouldn’t only be one option.”

Today on Degreed we offer lots of content: from podcasts, videos, presentations and articles. There’s something on everything for everyone - in all kinds of formats so we can SPARK ideas and thoughts whilst learning.

Learning is as diverse as our teams

Our team is spread all over the world: from 47 nationalities, working in eight offices across Europe, Asia, and North America. And that’s just the start. “We believe in the power of teamwork, which is why building an inclusive environment is really important to us. We embrace and celebrate diversity. Our partners need to understand this, and help us cross the finish line.”, says Nadine Wildhaber, Learning Specialist.

Our flexibility and speedy reaction time has allowed us to continue with our success. Even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many others, we’ve had to accept and adapt to the reality of remote work. This meant everything was virtual, from recruiting, to onboarding and learning. “Taking in new information and a new culture can be overwhelming at any new job, but it’s even more so when fully virtual. This is why we put the human spirit first. We want to make sure that all our new colleagues feel part of the team from day one.”, Nadine says.

We have remotely onboarded over 450 colleagues. Our onboarding satisfaction rate is close to 100%. We think that speaks volumes! Nadine adds: “It’s the combination of virtual get-togethers, a full onboarding week, check-ins and plenty of digital learning journeys on Degreed that helps us set our new colleagues up for success.”

It’s a relay race that we can only win together

We have built the foundation for a new and innovative learning culture. Like in a relay race each team member is responsible for driving our culture forward as we grow and evolve. Our favorite part of the race is seeing our teams being engaged, curious and exploring the different opportunities out there on our platform. Together we build the learning culture we want.
