Our Sustainable Way Forward

We’re excited to announce that, with guidance from premier carbon accounting firm RyeStrategy, we’ve fully offset our 2021 operational and value-chain footprint and are currently working to address and mitigate our 2022-2023 emissions. 

RyeStrategy helped us identify projects across the world where we could invest in an amount of metric tons to offset our total carbon emissions. Here are the global projects we’ve selected:

• Dirt on Dirt Project, US - This project incentivizes farmers to change their methods to sustainable agricultural management practices, thus reducing net emissions of CO2, methane, and nitrous oxide. These methods also improve the overall soil health, and therefore increase the quality and quantity of the crop yields.
• Biogas Project, Kenya - This project helps to provide domestic biodigesters, which enable households to reduce their dependence on firewood and fossil fuels. Cooking on biogas is fast and smokeless, improving health within the household. This project also improves crop yields and increases income.
• Renewable Energy Project, Buenos Aires, Argentina - This project has enabled a local ceramics factory to switch from illegal firewood to agricultural and industrial residues (biomass) to fuel the factory. The biomass is supplied by local farmers and enables them to complement their income by turning the waste into something useful! This project alleviates deforestation, avoids greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and promotes a sustainable supply chain while supporting local and employee livelihoods.

We will continue to measure and reduce our environmental impact for years to come, and in doing so, we encourage other businesses to do everything they can to help the planet—and all life on it.
