Our World Economy Is In Trouble, Here's What We Should Do About It
Pointing out that the world economy is is trouble is likely quite redundant right now. I expect that this will be worse than when the 2007/2008 financial crisis or after the Twin Towers fell.
The problem with the economies is that someone is going to have to generate much needed demand. The kind of demand that will stimulate our economies to regain their former levels again.
The challenge that I see is that too few people have any kind of business development ability. What passes as a business development strategy in most companies today is laughable. What we need is for a more professional business development strategy.
Sales people (and leaders) are going to have to transform into sales professionals. We are going to need to rethink how we generate new business. We are going to need to learn how to develop new revenue streams more efficiently.
This is where I can add some value. I have worked in sales for the past thirty years. Ten years ago I went on a journey to learn how to do cold sales outreach effectively. Five years ago I started a business development company. I currently work with other companies to drive their cold outreach campaigns. I only charge my customers once I have secured them a new customer meeting. I do this as I am confident in my ability to generate meetings for my customers. Needless to say I know a few things about generating new sources of revenue.
I want to write a series of posts that outline the process that I use to take on new customers. I have put together a formula that allows me to quickly ramp up new business activities for my customers. I'd like to share that here.
A great business leader told me once there's no problem in business that more revenue can't solve. I am a firm adherent to this philosophy.

Please let me know if there is anything specific you want me to cover. Otherwise let me know what kinds of things are proving challenging to you now. I'll try to answer the questions in the comments or write a post about the problem.
We can beat the looming disaster together. Let's buckle down and get the sales pipeline flowing :)

4yI am looking forward to your #sharpenthesaw series Colin Chapman. The world is an ever-changing place, and Covid-19 lockdown has only added to the general malaise in adapting to this new constant: #worldinflux. However, new opportunities have already and will continue to present themselves. And how else will you get your ideas, products and services sold without an effective sales team. I am especially interested in learning your strategies for connecting, forming relationships and creating value in a context where remote and virtual interactions are the default.
