Outsmart Imposter Syndrome
High-Performance Executive Newsletter: You're here because you have already achieved some outer success and reached your current executive leadership position. But growth doesn't have to stop here. There is a thrill and satisfaction in challenging yourself, stretching and seeing how much you can achieve. Have an impact and make a contribution.
The talents, skills and tools that have got you to this point will not necessarily take you further. Or the approaches you've used to achieve this success may have been expensive in terms of time, energy, stress and effect on your relationships. You need new or upgraded power tools to make sure you can sustain or advance your position more easily.
The High-Performance Executive Newsletter introduces these tools, so that you can level up. It draws on many areas of solid research into high-performance in business, including neuroscience, psychology, physiology, trauma therapy and flow-state study.
The three essential areas for high performance are neuro-regulation (to get and stay calm), clear the negative self-talk and the beliefs that create them (including imposter syndrome), and create new success habits.
This week we're looking at Outsmart Imposter Syndrome.

Outsmart Imposter Syndrome
On a cold, gloomy evening last February, a friend asked me a rather morbid question, but a good one.
‘If you were to get hit by a bus tomorrow, what would you regret?’
As a cold sweat prickled over me, I realised that my greatest regret would be not publishing the book I was working on – Outsmart Imposter Syndrome.
The regret was not that I hadn’t published a book, but that this book would not have been published. Deep down I know that the information in the book must get out into the world, and my gut reaction proved it to me.
Why? Because it gives hope.
Imposter syndrome is a nightmare that haunts high-achievers, often for their whole careers. This suffering (self-doubt, stress, anxiety, burnout, unproductive, reactive behaviours) is completely unnecessary suffering. The is a full and permanent solution to it.
But most of the world does not (yet) know about that solution.
Because few know the root cause of imposter syndrome, people try to tackle the symptoms instead of the cause. But that doesn’t solve the problem.
Misinformation
Furthermore, there are many myths and misconceptions about imposter syndrome out there on the internet and in the media. Innocently given misinformation, but misinformation nonetheless.
These myths lead influencers to give advice. ‘How to overcome imposter syndrome’ is one of the most searched-for terms on the subject, according to Google.
But the advice given is often unhelpful, bland, vague or just plain wrong. And sometimes even making things worse.
Imposter syndrome has serious, significant consequences. I’ve seen it destroy careers, and mental and physical health, and wreck marriages. Added to that, it negatively impacts your income and the contribution you can make to your business and community. It stops you from stepping into your full, positive potential as a leader.
All of this damage is avoidable because a full solution to imposter syndrome exists.
The Secrets
In Outsmart Imposter Syndrome, I’ve revealed the exact details of the Inner Success Method I use with my executive clients to break free from imposter syndrome permanently.
A book advisor told me that was the wrong choice. That I should hold back and keep my intellectual property to myself. But I disagreed.
I see imposter syndrome as such a huge global problem (it affects over 70% of high-achievers) that I can’t keep it to myself. It would be unethical. Millions of people are suffering unnecessarily.
Business performance and business decisions are being affected. The world needs leaders at their best – and at their happiest.
I, and my team of coaches trained in Inner Success, can only work with a few people every year, as the process is one-to-one.
In sharing the full details, and the science behind why it works, more people now have access to the concepts. I’m sure many coaches will implement it without full training, there’s nothing I can do about that. But least the people they help will get some benefit, some relief. It's much better than nothing.
This is why I broke out in a cold sweat at the thought of the book not being shared.
This information is much needed and it’s bigger than just me.
Outsmart Imposter Syndrome is out today from all good booksellers, and it has already hit Amazon's #1 bestseller status. (Hooray!)
Amazon has a $0.99/£0.99 sale on the Kindle version, closing at midnight tonight too.
