From our President - A Message from Stacey Dakin

As 2024 comes to a close, I am filled with pride reflecting on what has been a transformative year for Lean In Canada. This year, we reached several incredible milestones that will shape the future of our organization.

In 2024, we secured our first large-scale grant, a significant achievement that will allow us to amplify our impact in the years ahead (stay tuned for more on this in 2025!). We also celebrated becoming an official LeanOrg Network, a testament to our commitment to fostering equality and empowering women across Canada.

We launched three new City Circles in Montreal, Edmonton, and Halifax—vibrant communities we hope will grow into full City Networks like Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver. To support this growth, we are actively seeking volunteers for our City Circles and City Networks. If you’re passionate about advancing women’s leadership, visit our website to learn more about how you can get involved.

2024 also marks my last full year as Board President and Chair. When my term concludes at our spring AGM in 2025, I will transition into a new role as a volunteer with Lean In Canada, continuing to support this amazing organization in new ways.

This newsletter also kicks off our Board Member recruitment for 2025! We are seeking passionate leaders to fill six positions: National President and Chair, Vice President, Director of Administration and Operations, Director of Finance, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Director of Engagement. If you are ready to take the next step in championing gender equality, we would love to hear from you.

As we celebrate this season of giving and gratitude, I want to wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season filled with peace and warmth. Cheers to a wonderful 2025—may it bring new opportunities, growth, and continued success for Lean In Canada and for each of you.

With gratitude and best wishes,

Stacey Dakin, MA, CCMP™

Board President and Chair, Lean In Canada
