Padrone Restaurant, Helensburgh
One of my first commissions of 2017 was in collaboration with Paul Martin Designs to create images in order to bring the design for the Padrone Restaurant in Helensburgh to life. Here's a bit more about the project, and some of my highlights from working on it.
Project remit & requirements
The client required full architectural drawings to obtain planning permission from the local authority. This included one external montage and three internal GCI images, with several subsequent vignette detail views.
I was delighted to have the chance to work with Paul Martin Designs again, and it was great to be involved in the project throughout the full architectural cycle, including planning application, listed building consent, advertisement consent and building warrant application.
Unique design features & collaborative use of technology
A couple of the unique features within this building are the natural wood burning pizza oven, and contemporary street frontage which promotes al fresco dining. During the project, I benefited from Paul's approach to using immersive technology, in order to better engage myself and the client with the design concept.
Feedback
"It's great to start off the year in style with Collabor8.
Gordon and I generate a precedent sheet for the project so that we both know the direction of the project and then Gordon makes the whole process pain free - bringing my ideas to life and giving the client a view to what they are getting before it's there. This is an exciting project for me to get my teeth into and a fresh start to the New year introducing new tech and new ideas and a new concept to the West coast of Scotland."
