The Pain Vs Gain of Public Speaking.
Never EVER give up...

The Pain Vs Gain of Public Speaking.

You should be hesitant to begin your speaking career.

There's simply too much potential pain involved.

I know you've already thought about this before.

Let's face it...

  1. It could all go wrong.
  2. You might freeze.
  3. You might drop your script.
  4. You might forget everything.
  5. You might be humiliated by a troll in the audience.
  6. You might get angry and say something really bad.
  7. You might cry.
  8. You might be made to look stupid.
  9. Incredibly stupid.
  10. In Public.
  11. On line.
  12. Amongst your colleagues.
  13. To your boss.
  14. To your competitors.
  15. To clients.
  16. To potential clients.
  17. To the entire industry.
  18. To yourself.

However, there's also so much to gain.

In a perfect world...

  1. You might get it right.
  2. You become invaluable at work.
  3. Your boss loves you.
  4. Your colleagues respect you.
  5. Your competitors want to poach you.
  6. Your clients want to spend more with you.
  7. Your employers want to promote you.
  8. You will earn more.
  9. You are heralded as a 'one to watch' by the industry.
  10. You protect your job by becoming invaluable to everyone who comes into contact with you.
  11. You travel for free and speak across the globe.
  12. Conferences cherry pick you.
  13. Keynote events book you.
  14. Networking groups feature you.
  15. Bloggers write about you.
  16. Media covers you.
  17. Social media platforms rank you.
  18. High achievers connect with you.
  19. Publishers write a book for you.
  20. Industry mavericks seek advice from you.
  21. Business communities seek association with you.
  22. Youth associations role model you.
  23. Brands sponsor you.
  24. TED Talks approaches you.
  25. Product launches invite you.

With this you will automatically become:

  • Richer.
  • More business savvy.
  • Respected.
  • Protected from unemployment (always in demand).
  • Newsworthy.
  • Valued.
  • Significant.
  • Happier.

Not bad?

Well here's the secret to getting all that gain - THE PAIN IS GOING TO HAPPEN TOO!!!

It has to be like that.

Fear is False Expectations Appearing Real.

It's also a vital part of your learning curve.

It drives energy and can be immensely empowering when the adrenaline rush kicks in.

  • That's why people do extreme sports.
  • That's how you learn.
  • That's what makes you stronger.
  • That's what lifts you above your competitors.
  • That's what makes you able to charge so much for your services, advice and time.

IT'S CALLED RISK.

Most people won't take risks.

That vastly tips the odds in your favour. Especially as some of them are much much better at speaking, smarter at business and more naturally talented at engaging audiences than you will ever be.

They are probably equally adept at doing nothing special and always getting away with surviving in their job.

That's why they lose their courage and give up, choosing to live in mediocrity and 'what could have been' because staying where they are is safer, within their pathetic comfort zone and what only doing what everyone else does.

Everyone else who will also pass into obscurity.

Charles Darwin was 100% right about his theory of evolution.

Only the strongest DO survive.
