Painting for therapeutic relaxation...

No, I am not changing careers...and public policy will remain my first love... But after a break of 3 years I have taken up painting again and wanted to share this post with you. I am inviting suggestions on what to do with this first set of 9 paintings I just finished and future ones I paint. But also to strongly recommend painting as an amazing form of therapeutic relaxation at particularly significant and tumultuous times in your life... It has worked wonders for me...

As many of you know I am a great lover and consumer of the arts music theatre and dance but also that I have a bit of creative energy that occasionally manifests itself in sometimes embarrassing ways... This may be another such time. At the height of the ‪#‎Eurocrisis‬ in 2012 when I was in the thick of trying to save the EU from total meltdown and working non-stop 18 hours a day some of you suggested painting as a therapeutic relaxation tool and I did. Some of these paintings are hanging in your living room walls...

Facing another inflection point in my life I have just finished a second set of paintings in the past few weeks and many of you have been generous with your comments. To be clear I paint for myself but many of you have suggested exhibiting, have made generous offers to buy some of these and even tried to commission me. I am not clear on what I will do with these and future paintings but what is clear is that I will now continue to paint regularly. I wanted to share these thoughts and paintings with you and also invite suggestions on what I should do with these... You can find the images on my Facebook Page here...

It would be great if we came to know in what context the painting emerged and a title thereof. May be you would like to donate the proceeds to a charity. This could potentially be a new genre of Art

I just looked at your painting for 10 min and even that felt therapeutic. Thanks for sharing
