Partnership: Business For The 21st Century
I spend many hours per day looking at ways to develop business. Over the years, one of the main points that stand out to me is how important the role of "partnership" is to modern business. Gone are the days of doing business as a "my way or the highway" type of company. The businesses in the market who use B2B products or services will no longer allow this to happen.
It has become increasingly obvious that those companies who operate on a B2B level, need to show an attitude of partnership rather than believing they have all of the answers. (My suggestion would be to change the business buzzwords "trusted adviser" to "trusted partner") This requires research by company representatives to show how they can partner with their prospects instead of "selling" their services.
A company offering products or services to another business needs to have researched their prospect business completely. In today's internet world, there is plenty of information about the prospect company, who the internal players are, and often news or blog articles about current events. The business that shows value to the prospect company by offering to "partner" with them to solve a problem is the business that will build a long term relationship and grow.
It does not matter the area of the market in which you operate, the "partnership" method of growing is a solid foundation on which to build your business.
