Pathways to Property growth

The last academic Year (2023-2024) saw a massive period of growth for the Pathways to Property programme. Following the success of our trial Insight Day in Birmingham in 2022 we hosted 5 new Insight Days in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Sheffield and Leeds resulting in 79 additional students joining our programme. We also expanded our Summer School by 29% with 141 students joining us for a very busy but fun four days in July.

Not only did we have 220 students joining our programme last year, but a drive in marketing led to more than double the usual number of applications to the Summer School.  As a result a substantial proportion of the 1048 applications, who although deserving, could not be offered a place.  We therefore ran a webinar, after the Summer School, as well as a series of three webinar sessions this September to help support those students. 

On the back of the Summer School, Lincoln Property Company, who hosted our Site Visit, invited 11 students who had excelled on a project they ran, to a very insightful day at the Gensler office in London in August.  We also ran a Campus Day at Henley Business School a few weeks ago, where our Insight Day students could learn more about studying Real Estate at University - pictured above.

Seventeen companies hosted 62 students on work experience placements last October, up 41% from the year before and 32 students were also allocated mentors via our e-mentoring programme. Thanks to RREF and WCCS 10 bursaries were also awarded to Pathways students.

We have just started tracking last year's students so look forward to seeing the impact Pathways may have had on them. We already know that we had a record number of applications from students applying to study Real Estate at the University of Reading (36) and were happy to see 9 students enrol in September. In the meantime, we are planning for another busy year with 3 Insight Days in London, Leeds and Manchester fast approaching in November.
