Pause & reflect to access Future Fuel for 2025

This time of year always has a weird sort of “push-pull” energy to me – I’m in a bit of a rush to wrap things up whilst also feeling drawn to having the space to pause, reflect, and plan for the new year.

Last week, I spent two days in good company with my Business Mentor and community to consider the year that was and contemplate the year that will be. I was looking forward to diving straight into 2025 strategies, but assertive and opinionated Helga (my inner critic) was elbowing her way onto the stage in my mind:

🤬 ‘You didn’t finish this… or this….or that.’ ‘

🤬 What about that “brilliant” idea that never even made it out of your head!?.’

🤬‘Let’s be honest, you really should be further ahead – why aren’t you???”

But I'm familiar with her rants... and so instead of letting her derail me, I leaned into what I call Reverse Gapping.

Moving from Criticism to Clarity

I reminded myself to look back with kindsight and curiosity rather than tumbling into criticism. And what I saw surprised me:

✨ Wins I’d almost dismissed.

✨ Hard stuff I grew through.

✨ Lessons and progress I hadn’t given myself credit for.

It helped me flip the switch, with those reflections turning into Future Fuel— - he energy and clarity I needed to begin to craft a 2025 plan that I feel pretty excited about.

So that’s what I want to share with you. Before you charge into a new year, take a moment to pause. Reflect. Celebrate how far you’ve come. Use your experiences - both the wins and the hard stuff - to create the fuel for your next steps.

Reflective Questions to Spark Your 2025 Clarity

1. What are your wins this year, and why did they matter?

Reverse Gapping invites you to notice how far you’ve come - big wins, small wins, and everything in between.

2. What difficult or hard stuff have you grown through this year?

Where did you stretch yourself? What lessons are now part of your toolkit? This is potent Future Fuel - the resilience and wisdom you’ll carry forward.

3. What unfinished business do you have?

Liberally apply Kindsight before you ask yourself:

  • What wasn’t completed or started?
  • Are these still relevant, or is it time to let them go?
  • If they do still matter to you, what’s a fresh way to approach them?
  • Do I need to ask for help in some way?

4. What is your level of confidence for the new year?

Does it feel steady or wobbly? What do you need to ground yourself if you’re on the Confidence See-Saw?

5. What are your aspirations for 2025?

Imagine yourself a year from now. What are you celebrating? What does your Elevated Impact look like?

Self-Leadership + Strategic Clarity = 2025 Progress

This year, I’ve leaned into two key pillars that help sparky-brained women like us stop circling Perpetual Potential and start accessing what’s truly possible:

🧭 Self-Leadership

Self-leadership helps you move from relying on external validation to anchoring in your internal authority. It’s the ability to lead yourself with clarity, intention, and confidence that helps you:

  • Prioritise what truly matters to you.
  • Strengthen your decision-making and trust your own path.
  • Build emotional resilience to carry you through the ups and downs.

🎯 Strategic Clarity

Strategic Clarity calms the chaos of Priority Pinball, helping you narrow your focus and take intentional steps toward your goals. With it, you can:

  • Define where you’re heading (your Vision Compass).
  • Align your actions with your values and strengths.
  • Turn ideas into doable next steps that create traction and momentum.

When you pair Self-Leadership with Strategic Clarity, you step off the Confidence See-Saw, calm the noise of idea overwhelm and move from Perpetual Potential to Elevated Impact - where your energy, ambition, and ideas turn into results you can see and feel.

Your Tools for Reflection

If these concepts resonate, I have two tools for you to lean into as you close the year and step into 2025:

🔎 The Self-Leadership Assessment & Guide:

First, discover where you are on your self-leadership journey, and then turn to the guide that outlines the practices to help you lead yourself with more confidence, clarity, and focus. Click here to take the assessment and receive the guide.

🧭 The Clarity Compass:

A guide to reflecting on the results you've had this year, where you’ve been, where you’re heading, and what matters most so you can step into the new year with a succinct plan that feels aligned and doable. Click here to access the Guide.

See you on the other side!

So, as we head into the holidays, my wish for you is: Time to pause. Time to reflect. Time to acknowledge everything you’ve navigated this year and time to celebrate your progress.

The more you acknowledge what’s already working and what you’ve accomplished alongside what you want to achieve in 2025, the more fuel you’ll have for the Elevated Impact you’re capable of.

Here’s to a new year filled with clarity, confidence, and wicked, sparky-brained brilliance! ✨✨✨

Warmly,

Angela
