PC Water Cooling Guide - How to bend hard tubing

Today we are going to learn how to bend hard PETG tubing, you are going to need some tools, first some PETG tubing of course, we're going to be using this 16mm OD tubing, also you will need a hard tube bending kit, we’re using this one (below).

You will also need a heat gun and I like to use a small container of water with a tiny amount of dish soap, you will see why real soon.

Step 1: Planning your loop

To start we are going to map out which water cooling parts we are going to connect with tubing and plan our run. I like to mark where my bends are going to be with a sharpie, it comes off easy with some rubbing alcohol.

Step 2: Silicone Tube

Then we are going to grab this silicone tube and dip it in the soapy water, next we are going to insert this silicone tube inside the PETG tubing, this prevents the tube from collapsing when you're bending.

Step 3: Heat Gun

Now we turn on the heat gun around medium to high heat and start to heat up the tube. The key is to keep the tube at an appropriate distance from the heat gun, a few inches above and generally heating the area you want to bend. I am evenly trying to spread the heat, moving and twirling the tube gently.

Step 4: Bending

After about 30 seconds - min, you will feel the tube start to give way under its own weight, turn off the heat gun and use one of the provided mandrel to guide your bend. There you go on a nice clean bend!

Please note this might take several tries and you will get better with practice. Also, if you see the water inside the tube bubbling, then that is too much heat, causing the tube to have bumps and unpleasant bends. Checkout the Youtube Video for a visual tutorial!

UPDATES: TRI-SWIFT Upgrade Kit and new water block beta testing program

We have finished initial sample testing for the new TRI-SWIFT Upgrade Kits. As a reminder, all of our customers who purchased the Intel TRI-SWIFT Water Block since release in March 2022 will receive a free of charge and shipping TRI-SWIFT Upgrade Kit. Consisting of an improved cold plate, Intel LGA 1700 mounting mechanism, and assembly accessories. At the moment we have finished testing of all initial samples and have consolidated on the final upgrade kit for our beloved customers. We anticipate our customers to receive this upgrade kit between January and February 2023. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our products and do right by our customers.

For more information about the Upgrade Kit, check out our recent video:

Our new water block and the beta testing program:

We are gearing up to launch our new water block but before that we will be selecting a small group of enthusiasts to test early engineering samples of this new block. This will be called the beta testing program. As a reminder, this new water block will geared towards the entry level side of water cooling while still providing great performance for the new hot-running CPUs from Intel and AMD. At this moment, we have finished initial simulations and design concepts for this new block! We have started manufacturing the prototype samples and preparing to run experiments in our lab. After we identity the best prototype we will be ready to machine early engineering samples for the beta testing program.

In early 2023 we are planning on releasing the beta testing program on our website and socials where the public will be able to sign up for the program. Winners will be selected on hardware testing experience, PC build body of work, and social presence (you don't need big numbers but high engagement). Winners of the beta testing program will be announced shortly after. All winners will receive the early engineering sample of the new block, instructions, feedback and survey, and an embargo date of when content can be released to their audiences. Stay tuned for update by following our socials below!
