A pensioner saved from eviction, a disabled woman sent home from hospital with no care & no food & staff member attacked as people reach break point.

This week was our toughest week since we opened, we successfully stopped a pensioners eviction, got an emergency food parcel to a disabled pensioner sent home from hospital to a home with NO food, had 17 emergency food referrals, and at least one personal breakdown from a man unable to cope anymore, whilst Toni was Attacked in the hub,

It is really tough out there if you're struggling to survive and put food on the table in foodbank Britain.

This week the numbers of organisations sending people in crisis through our doors continues to push us all at Kaths Place to breaking point , whilst those falling of the radar scares as daily, one local pensioner who had just become a pensioner had his Universal credit stopped and delays still on going , with paying his pension lead to him going over 100 days with no money which lead to his landlord issuing an eviction notice due to the rent arrears this crisis had caused , thankfully We Care was able to help stop the eviction and sort the issues , But not every place has a We Care and most elderly to proud to seek help, this is NOT a one off , another pensioner sent home by ambulance from hospital after surgery was sent home with NO care package and NO food , again it was We Care and the volunteers at Kaths place that had to pick up the pieces , whilst one family had a total meltdown in the Hub explaining to us that Social Services had stopped access to their kids , whilst all this was going on, the numbers of front line services pushing people in crisis through our doors continues to grow whilst the pressure lead to the police being called after one man attacked Toni in the Hub , terrifying a venerable women with violence whilst trying to smash the charity shop windows with Toni alone inside .

Whilst Toni was on the phone to me, I was cleaning up the POOH that a human had dumped in the kid's toy box of our Under The Rainbow Phone box community hub on Deptford High Street, along with the pooh the nasty individual also removed the Hamster we had on the roof so loved by local kids on the way to school and had also ripped out the phone box clock that is part of the project for those without a smartphone to check what the time is when on the high street. On Wednesday we are up for A Nationwide Award for the services we deliver with Charities apart from us that are all Household names and yet we struggle every day to raise the cash to buy the food, pay the rent and insurance, and rising costs of Utility bills we need to run out fridges and freezers, This go fund me page has raised just £100, we do so much and yet we cannot keep going on an army of volunteers, the kindness of strangers and fresh air, we need people to shop in our charity shop, buy a mug of tea, but a Lewisham community lottery ticket chasing we care as your charity or people to fundraise, Put up a Collection tin in your bar, shop, cafe or just donate here, ideally making a regular monthly payment so we can budget and plan ahead and survive beyond Christmas
