All Living Creatures find their Beginning in Stone
All Living Creatures find their Beginning in Stone.
Can you acknowledge there is something sustaining you that is greater than yourself? It is an energy or intelligence keeping the indivisible experience of life connected and complete. Painting with egg tempera, (finely ground earth pigments) for 25 years has taught me one undeniable truth. Everything humans do, think, and say is connected to a divine source; God, Spirit, Energy and Wholeness. Life around the globe began on this rock placed in space by God. We are here and now because of that one action or intent manifest by the essence I will call God.
You may choose to call it Energy, Spirit, or Consciousness. I mean the God that is thinking in you. IT is the “is-ness” of being human, it is what sustains your consciousness. The wonder of egg tempera allowed me to see my hand push around mother earth and contributes to my understanding of where and who I Am because of stones.
Mystics are people who comprehend that which cannot be seen.
The wonder of egg tempera allowed me to see my hand push around Mother Earth and contributes to understanding where and who I Am. After nearly three decades of playing in the dirt, I have come to some startling conclusions about energy and stone. The planet has been hurling through space at 50,000 miles an hour for billions of years. The earth's crust is a layer of stone. Oceans press up to and crash against stone and sand is its undergarment. Stone restrains the basic chemical elements for the entire Periodic Table. Stone deserves our awe and wonder because it has been without it we would not exist.
The rock has been notably generous with us. It might help during this tumultuous time to slow down long enough to fathom how we are here now. We are here now, but our being here is brief! Make it count without drama and hatred.
How is it we came from Stone and Rock?

The mountains of stone and their constant decay forms sand and crevices to harbor small particles of organic earth to make soil. The soil gives life just by the addition of water and sunlight. That beautiful relationship between these three elements provides all the potential for life on this planet, all living Creatures find their beginning in Stone. The sun and water permits food to grow, which nurtures, benefits, and sustains all living creatures on the planet. It is a cycle, as our life span is a cycle. All of life gets transformed and recycled, and in the paradigm of time, it happens Quick!
Look at these rocks, they are different colors, weights and characters, and each of them has a history just like you have a history. One marvelous thing is that without stones and dirt, humans and all living creatures could not exist. Earth as a dead stone can exist without life. However life cannot exist without stones and rocks.. We have lost our connection to this planet. Egg tempera has taught me I am a spiritual person because I am alive. I know this because of the quiet hours I have spent witnessing myself push colored stones around with a brush.
Can we see ourselves anew?
Can we take time to celebrate and delight in being, here and now, like the eternal stone we stand upon. Do we love without limit that which we did not create? Working in egg tempera has given me a glimpse of the wonder of color, shape, texture, and time that creates and sustains life on the planet. Being a living creature reveals the same consciousness of God who created the Earth. You are ancient, you are alive and you are amazing.
