The Perfect CV #2: include hobbies?
In general, I would say: no. Don't waste the valuable space on your CV adding irrelevant elements about hobbies, children, private situation or high school degrees.
However and ONLY when you apply for a role where your hobbies will have an added value to the application, you can. I will give you some examples:
- You are a Sales Manager and spend your leisure time on repairing an old-timer in your garage. The company you want to apply for is one of the biggest ones in the Automotive industry
- You want to apply for a Marketing position, maybe Social Media tools can be a good addition to your CV (I mean as hobby not just professionally)
- You apply for a technical position in the Hotel/ Restaurant industry, knowledge and passion for restaurants, dining, F&B and wine/spice is an added value
- You apply for a Travel or Bookings website and you spent years on travelling and holidays abroad, add it to your CV! And feel free to be specific: which location
Conclusion: Keep your CV professional and relevant!

8yI totally disagree. How to know what kind of people you are facing if you just want to read common degree's lines ? It's that robotic to read a full-pro CV ! I had liked to read about hobbies when hiring.
